Like other commenters, I no longer enjoy horror, so I doubt I'll check it out, but this review tempted me even though it didn't work for you in the end.

That's the mark of a good review. Will I agree with the reviewer? Especially since the reviewer seemed to enjoy it at first?

As I've gotten older, horror has generally become a hard no. Give me a good redemption story, however, and I'm putty in your hands, and will ignore the most ridiculous plot holes.
