Jesus never claimed to be more moral than anyone. It's important to read thoroughly what was actually written about him if you feel inclined to comment about his teachings.

There are also better places to argue about the case for or against a historical Jesus.

Believing in anything supernatural requires a belief in magic. Many people on the Christian left believe that God manifests in different ways to different people.

Maybe to you, he/she/they manifests as science. Or Mr. Potato Head. I don't think it matters, as long as you're happy with it.

Most on the Christian left also reject the notion that the genocide reflected in such old testament books as Joshua and Judges was ordained by God.

I happen to believe that if Christ thought it was important for you to believe in him, you would.

He probably feels that your morality is already in alignment with his. His focus is on those of us who need correction. I can't guess how he feels about modern evangelism, but I doubt he's pleased.

I'm not a fan of evangelism, either for or against God. We are all entitled to our beliefs.
