The Cliffs Notes: We often hear about an urban "underclass" of people who feel almost nothing but hopelessness.
Now this underclass has spread to rural areas. It's a direct result of economic and social policies of Reaganism - the same Reaganism that neoliberal Democrats have been too keen to endorse and support.
Reaganomics has dominated our politics so much for the last 40 years that most Americans quite literally know nothing else.
I'm sorry, but it has little to do with Trump. He's just a symptom of a much larger disease.
