I've written a lot of articles with quotes from others. I typically use Medium's quote tool (Substack has a similar one) with attribution.
That way, the reliability (or lack of) remains with the original source.
I typically don't read writers who merely lift a quote like that without attribution.
Once in a blue moon I will make a broad statement about something. I did it just today in an article about Texas Governor Gregg Abbott. But in that case, I assume it is generally accepted knowledge.
Another time I've done it recently was an obligatory JD Vance couch joke. The couch thing turned out to be a false rumor involving a well done Photoshop from a book he wrote. But it is now part of the ecosphere, so I didn't care, lol. Sometimes, if, as a person, you're just a turd like Vance is, that kind of thing will happen! :-)
