I've often wondered about these two. Not that I cared, but from the perspective of crazed evangelical "thinking".

Paul's writings got heavily edited by male Christian clerics who had something up their butt. For example, in one of his epistles he basically tells women to stay at home and that they have no business attempting to play lead roles of any kind in the church. But he had numerous female priestesses and there are multiple references to female leadership, even in his epistles (not to mention that Mary M was the first witness to a risen Jesus).

So either he was crazy, or some far right Christian hooligan (they've been around since forever) took out his pen and added the bit about women's place being in the home.

You can be sure that a number of stories got "deleted" from the canon when the patriarchy rose and snatched Christianity from its origins.
