I've never tried to teach writing so I don't know what can be learned. Dialogue doesn't seem to come easily for some. It's equivalent to the drawing of hands in the artist's world.

If I *was* going to try to teach it, I guess I'd suggest that authors ask themselves, "Is this how conversations in my life sound?"
