I've never been to a resort. They have always looked like big Karen playgrounds to me (long before Karen was a thing). It's more real to get near the locals anyway.

The closest I've been to a resort was a casa near Puerto Vallarta, but it was small. Had a pretty diverse (and small) set of visitors, few frills beyond a swimming pool.

One temporary solution is google.

For example, Veronica's Place in Puerto Vjejo seems interesting. It's Black-owned and looks to have a really interesting vibe. I'd love to check it out sometime myself.

There are several Black-owned resorts in Jamaica and other parts of the world.

Of course, the ugly fact is that I could probably visit all of these places and get treated well. So I don't mean to dismiss your experience.

I live in midtown Atlanta and am treated great by Black folks here. Whites who say otherwise and who try the reverse "racism" card are dishonest protectors of racism.

Good luck on your next trip. If I owned a resort I'd love to have you visit! But I don't!
