I've had much better luck getting book reviews from strangers and pubs than people I know. I had one friend who absolutely gushed over my novel, and I knew it was very sincere because of the way he described the things he loved about it. He really delved into the characters and what he loved about specific paragraphs in some DMs to me.

I stopped reminding him to drop an Amazon review about six months ago.
