I've been trying to figure this cult of personality for a long time, and I just can't get there.

If he was charismatic and intelligent, I could understand it.

But when I watch and listen to him, I can't stand doing so for more than a minute or so.

So what is it that attracts them?

I understand all of the arguments - many of which I've made myself - about things like the growing white underclass of people without hope. I get all that.

But I still can't wrap my arms around this: Why him??? What, exactly, is he offering that I fail to see, even from an empathic standpoint?
