But if the choice for the press is between covering a hate fest emceed by the Predator in Chief and a speech by the president of the United States, guess which they’ll choose?

Americans don’t want nuts and bolts policy talks. They want more Kardashians.

EDIT: It's also worth noting that Bret Stephens and Ross Douthat are NY Times' efforts at "fair and balanced". Most of their columnists run left of center. Douthat is even worse than Stephens and fancies himself a modern day William F. Buckley, as if that is a worthy goal.

Jamelle Bouie, Gail Collins, and Charles Blow are much better reads than either of those two within the NY Times columnist roster.

Reading Stephens and Douthat is a bit masochistic if you are at all left of the Bush family.
