I've been reading some interesting things lately that remind me that the country has actually seen worse but that the institutions underneath it all have stood firm, or mostly so.

One recent thread I read is that Texas construction companies are already pushing back on the immigration fuss, and they're not being shy about their objections. They're saying that housing construction will shut down if there's a push against undocumented workers. Yeah, I know, where were they before the election? But we can't worry about that anymore. The amazing thing is that they're admitting their reliance on undocumented workers. Tariffs are receiving push back, too.

And I take comfort knowing he's old and feeble and is unlikely to last much longer. I feel like his replacement, Vance, is someone we can much more easily knock down.

We'll all be okay. Just need to take what time we need now to regroup, breathe, and support each other.
