It's weird how I do the same thing. I usually end up with file names like "Blahblah - v2" and eventually "Blahblah - v32" thinking that I'll somehow want to revisit the amazing, incredible, precious writing I did before.

I never do. But I don't see myself ever ending that habit. Maybe it is what makes it possible for me to do major edits. If I tell myself it's not gone forever, I'll make the big changes.

Thanks for sharing some of your process. Usually when I get stuck, it tells me something is wrong. It sounds like that's what basically happened in your case.

Every writer is different, but in my case, it often means that I haven't let my characters show me the way. I get in their way, and don't let them tell the story.
