It looks to me like some EV users in your comments section missed this point of the article. Some are demonstrating that yes, it fits their broader lifestyle with more general contributions to the grid. But they still missed the point.
Others are Musk fanbois upset that you wrote this.
I'm living in Midtown Atlanta so I don't currently own a car, but if I did I'd buy an EV. But not a Tesla. I won't do anything that indirectly aids Musk. There are other EV options out there now.
I read an article today about how some police forces in California aren't able to use the Tesla at all except as taxis for the higher ups.
But the Ford F-150 Lightning EV is working great because it can be modified for police work whereas Tesla cannot.
Why does this matter? In relation to your article, it doesn't much, other than to illustrate that the EV market is evolving. It's also becoming less expensive by the month. This kind of thing is pretty standard for new tech.
