It all depends on impeachment I think.

Ben Sasse is looking for a political home. I'm pretty sure he has presidential aspirations. He'll vote to convict if only for that reason. What other senators are of that same mindset? Then there's Murkowski and Collins, both of whom simply loathe Trump for the same reasons most women (and not enough men) do.

I'm thinking a count is in order. How many Republicans will vote to convict? Might be more than we think.

Because that's how you shut Trump down (although the New York states attorneys office has some additional ideas). Like you said, any third party he starts is rudderless without him.

Shut him down, and then watch Ben Sasse, Nikki Haley, and Josh Hawley duke it out in the next primary season. God help us if Hawley comes out of that on top.

But hey, even the Proud Boys and QAnon circus clowns are tired of his act. Combine that with the fact he'll probably a vegetable by 2024, and I think we are done with this guy.
