In addition to what I wrote before that I think the entire process was just a cover for slashing income for writers, I also want to do a shout out for what you described as the side-effects of their changes.

Now, we're getting slammed by spam and bots, all for the sake of engagement.

So many of those who ARE benefitting from the changes don't deserve to be (obviously, there are exceptions).

Medium is turning into a junk pile of AI crap and regurgitated writing. The good writers that I enjoy are also not showing up in my feeds as often as they used to. I can't subscribe to every writer I like. My inbox can't take that kind of hit, lol.

It's all a big mess, but the coach says it's all good, so I guess I'm wrong.
