I'm preaching to the choir here but Fort Pillow is a reminder that the civil war was a race war, which continues to this day. The desire to hold on to slavery was enshrined in each confederate states' secession documents. It is a part of written history.
The blurb on Fort Pillow on history.com says, "The Fort Pillow site is now a Tennessee state park."
That sounds about right.
Thanks for the ugly history lesson.
As for the KKK hood wearer in the grocery store, it is the responsibility of any white person there to stand next to the guy and dial 911, and report a terrorist threat. And make sure he hears you. If he shoots you, you die for the cause. And that's ok.
