I'm most worried about the youngest among us - the 18-25 years olds who have lived first through 4 years of the Trump plague and now the pandemic for the last 18 months.
They're living not only with all of this, but a very difficult job market where only a small subset of jobs offer high enough income where they can get dreamy eyed about stuff. The costs of basic housing, education, even cars are crazy.
I thought things were tough in my youth. They were nothing like this.
I hate to say it, but the ones I know and/or have been encountering lately have been acting a little strange,. This is all affecting them, and I think those of us near my age who have a tendency to do the "When I was your age..." thing need to hold back on that and bring a little empathy into our conversations with them.
