I'm 62 years old and Left of Bernie. So I've been frustrated with American politics for a very long time.

Joe Biden is a decent man. I don't share the politics he has adhered to during his career., but I know he's a good guy.

I wrote a Medium piece about the importance of Biden promising a WPA 2.0 program BEFORE the election (knowing perfectly well he would neither read the piece, or take the advice).

But I do have a theory.

He is old. He wants a legacy - something that goes beyond his 45+ years as being a journeyman politician.

I think he may shoot for something big.

He has mentioned FDR-scale initiatives in the recent past. But it makes absolute sense to avoid scaring the center-right voters he needs before the election and therefore remain quiet about it now.

Think of this as an opportunity for the left to grab him by the proverbial you know whats and force the issue.

If I write another political piece on Medium it may be titled something like, "Why we must fill the streets with protest if Biden wins".

I do have some hope for the future, probably more than I have since the 70s, that maybe people like you will FORCE change.
