I was with a Black friend at a tourist-type store once - I was very young, a teenager and I didn't know what else to do but say, "let's get out of here."

What came to mind later was that I wished I had yelled out, "Hey, Walt, I'm gonna go ahead and steal this because the racist store owner is NEVER gonna take her eyes off you!"

Number two was really helpful -- I love the first line. If I ever go to an airport again and I see that, I'll definitely try it. I hope I don't see it, though.
