I was born with a semicolon tattoo on my ass. I'm old. But I rarely use them anymore. I was lucky, though, I resisted them, even when I was encouraged to use them in my youth (a long, loong, long time ago).

Writing these days tend to lean towards short and sassy. Even in fiction, these days it's Hemingway, not Thomas Pynchon or Norman Mailer.
