I thought this was a useful article on this:

https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/22422793/joe-biden-health-care-plan-obamacare-medicare-public-option

That article is a nice way of saying that Democrats are still beholden to the for-profit health care industry. The entire concept of a for profit health care industry is bogus, and someone, somewhere, needs to demonstrate the poltical will to dismantle it.

The article I link to is actually kind of pathetic, because it displays empathy towards those who fall prey to the false narrative of deficit spending.

I will say that there has been some good news for me regarding health care. Last year, at 62 years old, I had to blow it off because I was freelancing and it costs me a cool $900 a month for healthcare plans with pretty minimal coverage.

This May, thanks to the relief bill, I was able to get a plan for $265. Uncle Sam is paying $675, which makes it affordable to me. And it's an advance payment, not a tax credit (well, formally it is a tax credit, but it's advanced by the feds).

But this personal experience doesn't dismiss the essence of your article or the ridiculousness of our health care. Many, many people my age cannot afford to pay $200 plus a month for health care.

Worse, all the plans at reasonable prices have high deductibles. I was able to find a plan with $40 doctor visits, which is a pretty good deal in today's terms, but if I go to an ER, you folks are stil basically going to indrectly foot the bill.
