I think the guidance was a calculated risk. And, I hate to say it, somewhat political. I don't think something like that happens without Biden's thumbs up.
Unlike the Predator in Chief, Biden is engaged. For better, and, because he is human, sometimes for worse. We don't know yet which this is.
I say that it is somewhat political because I think that the administration is saying to those who refuse to get vaccinated - Okay, but you have to wear a mask, and you hate those, too, dummies.
So this guidance turns up the heat a little. I approve of it for that reason. They're trying to get vaccination resistors to change their minds. That seems like a pretty worthy goal.
Those of us who are committed to seeing this thing through are informed enough to keep wearing masks, in my opinion.
I was at Trader Joe's yesterday. They supposedly have removed their mask requirements. I did not see ONE person in there without a mask.
I have some concern about the India strain, which is my main reason for continuing with a mask. I was on a zoom call with a co-worker in India and he said that young people are getting sick. We don't know much about this new mutation, but it doesn't sound good.
