I see the troll farms are starting to kick in. I hope Mr. Obama uses the "hide" feature on comments from Medium "users" with zero or 1 or 2 followers, because that's a sure sign that it's a troll account.

Rule number one: Ignore the trolls.

In the meantime, I'd like to remind people that affirmative action was originally designed as a mechanism to address racial inequality. It was a baby step of sorts toward reparations to address the evil of slavery and subsequent wrongs like redlining and Jim Crow, and today, mass incarceration, profiling and, yes, continued workplace and educational discrimination.

That's where Roberts gets things so wrong, and Justice Sonia Sotomayor got it so right when she said in her dissent:

“The Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment enshrines a guarantee of racial equality. The court long ago concluded that this guarantee can be enforced through race-conscious means in a society that is not, and has never been, colorblind.”
