I remember when Bolsonaro was first elected and his Amazon policies began to surface that there was some discussion in a few circles about the rights of sovereign countries to destroy the planet. That's how worried some environmentalists were. Some even asked, should other nations intervene militarily? That's not a realistic option, but I haven't identified ANY pressure put on him by the United States or other nations who are supposed to care about this stuff, other than hand-wringing.

Of course, I wouldn't expect Trump to do anything. And maybe Biden is hoping that the Brazilians will take care of the problem. One guy can literally change the temperature of the planet and melt a few glaciers in Antarctica by simply torching the Amazon. That's a huge problem.

Thanks for reading!
