I really think a wealth tax is the one single piece of legislation that is needed to begin the process of fixing the deep economic inequalities we see. It's so simple, but it seems so far away.

I think that's because most Americans think they'll be the next rich person, and don't want to see the taxes hit them just as they're striking it rich. It's such an old, erroneous fable.

I'm also with the Nobel prize winning economist Paul Krugman, who frequently writes on the fallacy that the debt even matters for a country whose currency is the basis of the rest of the world's currency, but that's another article!
