I rarely own a car when I live in urban areas, and I've been living in midtown Atlanta for about three years. So I take Uber a lot. Many of the drivers love to talk, and I love to steer the conversation away from myself, so I get a lot of fodder for my writing. Sometimes I feel like Studs Terkel.

I guess I don't really use any of the story details often, if ever, but it's there. It seeps into my soul and changes my perspective.
