I never got into porn but it's not because I'm an angel. It's probably because when I was young (maybe it's changed) it was just so fakey. I went through a brief Playboy phase when I was a kid, thanks to my dad, who hid them under his pillow (I have no idea how I discovered that). My mom slept in separate quarters (for what may be obvious reasons). But, again, fakey. Airbrushed, silly photos, really. I suppose things have changed, but it passed me all by.

Times have changed, for sure, though. When I was in college, a public university, the University Center did a showing of Deep Throat. That would never happen today.

When it comes to compulsive internet habits (I'm not at all claiming to say yours was), I read a peer-reviewed study a while back that reported on research that shows that people have an almost addictive response to whatever activity they use their phone the most for, whether it's instagram, porn, gambling, sexting, or just plain old texting.

From my observations, this seems to be true. So anyone who self-flagellates over their online porn usage (again, not suggesting that's you!) should go easy on themselves and just understand that it's their device that they're responding to, not some awful habit.
