I love this for its motivating effects. I sort of consider myself an aspiring writer at the ripe old age of 65. Even though I had a book published in December 2021, it hasn't sold much (good, unsolicited reviews tho!).
I consider my life to have gone through phases. My middle phase was decently successful as I raked in some cash as a software engineer, but I didn't do a good job holding on to it.
I wrote as a hobby all my working life. Now I'm transitioning to full time writing. It feels like a very late stage thing to do. I make a lot more money bitting and byting.
But this is how I want to go out, whether it's this year or 30 years from now. I've finished 2 novels since my last one. Now I just need to find publishers. It's difficult, but it helps to have inspiration like this piece.
