I haven't been deeply involved in software dev for awhile now, but I can say from experience that when a large tech company makes a change to their stack, the easiest way to transition is to do the workshops you folks did. Software engineers pick new stuff up quickly, and it's a lot easier (and better for morale) than hiring a bunch of new people.
