After he passed away (tragically, of course), his sister and a lawyer went to the prince's humble apartment in Lagos, where the sister revealed to the lawyer millions of dollars in Krugerrands.

When the lawyer asked why he was hoarding so much of it, she replied, "He tried giving it away, but nobody replied to his emails."
