I guess I wasn't surprised that Obama continued the Clinton policies. He never really ran as a leftist. I say frequently here on Medium in my Medium articles about the transition of the United States into a right wing police state, which it now mostly is, that if you dropped Obama into the 1970s he'd be a moderate Republican like Charles Percy, another former Illinois senator.
