I enjoy the oversimplification of ethos that we find in movies like the ones you hate. But I get why people would not like that. I pretty much like all genres, though, except horror or women getting terrorized, etc.
For me, movies are an escape from reality. If I want an anti-hero, all I gotta do is talk to the guy next door. Not that I don't enjoy movies with dramatic realism. But I love the silliness of the grand expositions.
So I like a fantastical, even unrealistic movie experience. One of the common elements of the movies you hate is that they aren't even remotely plausible.
I'm tired of the all the damn superhero movies, though.
I do enjoy the occasional gritty movies like Affliction (but the Russell Banks book it was based on was better). We don't see much of that at all these days, which is a loss. Hopefully with all the streaming services bashing each other over the head, one of them will find a niche in realism.
