I didn't write a story about it, I ignored it.
But all online abuse should be fought. What seems minor to you might not feel so minor to someone else. I'm not sure any of us are in a position to adjudicate what someone else's tolerance level is.
In your case, it sounds like people are literally committing a crime. There are white hat hackers who help track down criminals who make rape and murder threats. I'm sure you can find some on reddit who'd help you.
The other points of abuse you see are also inexcusable. They're the acts of cowards, incels, and other losers. They don't have the courage to fight for their own well being and have been so emasculated in real life that the only way they can think of bringing themselves some self-esteem is to hide behind an avatar and attack you. That's pretty pathetic and so gamergate of them.
It's also worth remembering that a LOT of online trolls are actually paid to do what they do. They're part of cyber operations out of places like Russia. Yes, that is really a thing. If you know for sure that someone is not from a troll farm, that means you have enough information on them to take some formal action against them, and I hope you do.
What separates this Tessa individiual from a troll farm abuser is that she is a Medium writer who should know better, and she is rather prolific with her abuse. She's a real person, for sure. So she should be called out. We don't need that kind of stuff on Medium.
Good luck to you. You don't deserve abuse, you deserve the opposite. I hope you can find a way to attract the kind of online people who support, encourage, and love you for who you are.
