I cried a little tear of joy when Obama won. Then the backlash came and I worried I'd have to hide my face in shame.

But I live in Atlanta and am around a lot of diversity, and feel very accepted.

This says a lot about my peer group. It's exceptional in exactly the wrong way. No grace, no joy, just an underlying bitterness. It sort of feels like a chronic disease.
