His rationale is that Earth can't be the only home for humans because we may go extinct here.

But if we do, how will Mars sustain itself without the largesse of the mother planet?

There are humans on earth that need some loving care. Musk's priorities are in the toilet. Maybe he should save his money for the next Texas hurricane in his newly adopted state.
