I agree with your analysis of his sociopathic personality, but one thing I've noticed is that if you listen to any free form talk from him - say Howard Stern from a decade or so ago -- and compare it to now, there's a VERY significant deterioration.

And now, for the reasons you've mentioned (and a possible NY State prison term), he's freaking out, maybe falling apart.

It's a pretty dangerous situation, but I do believe the military folks are on top of it. I am usually a very harsh critic of our military (or, more accurately, American military policy — not the people in uniform), but I'm sort of glad for their professionalism right now. I don't think they'd honor crazy demands.
