I agree with you completely, but do note the "satire" heading at the top of the article.

Republicans have made it very difficult to do satire these days because their reality is more ridiculous than any satire I can conjure.

Sadly, I'm the one guilty of kindergartner humor in this case. But of course, I do it to make a point.
