I agree wih the general premise that wars profit the military industrial complex, but I don't agree that supporting Ukraine is a bad thing. The amount of money spent on Ukraine is a tiny splash of the U.S. budget.

Pulling the funding out of the Ukraine war will not add money to the welfare spigot. It won't add one red cent.

I know people who live in Ukraine. I'll introduce you to them if you'd like. You can tell them how you feel about Russia invading their land.

They wre living and acting just like any other Europeans until one day, their hospitals and schools were getting shelled by Russian artillery. Are there bad actors in Ukraine? Show me a country without them.

I realize that this kind of article sells, but its premise is wrong.

Supporting Ukraine is not the same as Gore Vidal's Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace. It takes no money out of social welfare coffers. That happens all on its own because people refuse to vote for progressives.
