Great article. I'll only add that it is ironic that the ONLY way to prevent the continued radicalization of the rural and blue collar white population is a massive expansion of progressive policies. I've written about the need for a WPA 2.0 before here on Medium. As long as Democrats are in bed with Joe Manchin and his ilk, they are in a hopeless situation. My own preference would be to see the progressives take over the Democratic Party, but your method is quicker. But your method requires a humble Joe Biden. Compared to Trump, Joe Biden is very humble. Compared to you and me? Not so much.
