Fair points to some extent but as a salty old socialist who buys Amazon products, I can say with some authority that there is a difference between today's set of opposing viewpoints and what we experienced in the 1970s and even the 1980s.
Then Newt Gingrich came onto the scene and upended polite disagreement.
I've been frustrated for a long time about corporate democrats, but that isn't the point of today's arguments against the growing fascist movement.
Republicans today are completely out of control. There is no "Two sides to this." You are either for or against fascism. I'm against corporate liberalism, too, and I'll even agree with those who argue that it presents its own style of danger.
But. It's just not the same. Corporate liberals have more in common with Mitt Romney than AOC. But it's just politics and argument over economics.
The toxic stew that modern Republicans are throwing out there simply can't be tolerated for any reason whatsoever, and cannot be defended as simply an opposing viewpoint.
