Elaine Chao resigned today, so that tells me that it is likely Pence has tried to get a quorum of Cabinet officials to line up for the 25th and has failed.

Last night CBS News was reporting that Pence was coordinating the law enforcement and military response to the insurrection. They pointedly mentioned that Spanky was not involved in the decision-making process.

Reading the tea leaves, it seems to me that a palace coup is underway. Whether or not it is formalized by the 25th amendment is hard to say - but I am willing to bet that the Joint Chiefs of Staff will not participate in any hanky panky or wag the dog stuff.

If Trump says, "hit Iran," the Joint Chiefs will say, "no."

That's a dangerous precedent to set, the military refusing to take an order, but I am pretty sure that's how it would go down.
