But...but...but!! Fewer people are dying!! And the vaccines don't work anymore! And...

...Even the non-MAGA elements in our society are saying these things.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm damn sick of wearing masks. I got my fourth vax yesterday.

It's tiring. So I get it.

And I'll be honest. I have snuck into the grocery store during off hours without a mask. My glasses fog up. It's a pain.

But I also do mostly deliveries on my groceries, I USUALLY wear a mask, and I haven't been on vacation for three years.

It sucks.

But I don't believe the hype, either. Anyone who can read past a third grade reading level (in America, that's about 15% of the population) knows that covid evolves faster than a bubble disappearing in a glass of water.

This latest variant is demonstrating that covid's secret sauce is elusiveness. It seems almost programmed to counter immunity.

The streets should be filled with FEMA wagons delivering up to date vaccines. The technology is there. If Amazon can fill our streets with their brown vans almost overnight, FEMA can send out white ones. The scientists know HOW to upgrade the vaccines, but they need money to push them out the door.

But the United States is filled with conservatives who fight against every government action.

Can you imagine trying to get a seat belt law enacted in today's political environment?
