Biden should have stated from the beginning that he would not respond to Trump's lies. He needs to be much more forceful in September, when many more will be paying attention, and say something like this at the beginning of the debate: "Folks, I am not here to debate Donald Trump. Everything he tells you will be a lie. I will respond to the questions from the panel, and that is all."
