As usual from you, thought provoking stuff. I had never considered any of those consequences about lend lease. Most history is whitewashed to Americans. The result of that is that we hear about the aid given to the UK and USSR but none of the side effects.

I guess the question for me is, would the UK have been able to afford an arms buildup in the face of Hitler's threat? They were strapped for money, too, like most of the world. But they were master exploiters, so who knows? Great stuff as always from you.
