All of the modern translations are based on old Hebrew and Greek translations created by male scribes who were hell bent on promoting their emerging patriarchy. There is plenty of scholarly research on this. You just have to be willing to seek it out. Start with Sarah Ruden's The Gospels, which takes a offers a more exacting translation of the Good News than you are probably willing to review, and go from there.
